Our Story
Howard Aircraft is a 60+-year old aircraft maintenance and repair facility at KMRB, Martinsburg’s Eastern West Virginia Regional Airport.
It was founded in 1956 by Russ Howard, my grandfather. His motto was "honest service at a fair price,” and that’s the way I still run the business today. If you’re based at any of the dozens of smaller airports or private grass strips within 50 miles of KMRB and aren’t satisfied with your maintenance arrangements or annual inspections, come see me.
We’re not fancy at Howard Aircraft. Our hangar is NOT a shiny multi-million dollar edifice with expensive glass and chrome everywhere. We don't provide plush waiting rooms, free snacks, smiling receptionists or even a well-staffed billing department. We don't employ a "service advisor" who stands between you and the A&P. You talk directly to the A&P with his hands on your airplane.
Also, we don't charge $300 for an oil change or $2,000 for a Cessna 172 annual inspection. Our shop rate is $80 an hour and we guarantee our work. That's us, Howard Aircraft: honest service at a fair price, just like in the old days.
Give us a call or come visit. We're here Tuesday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4 PM and Saturday from 7:30 AM to 12 noon.
Howard Aircraft has over 60 years of experience serving GA aircraft owners and pilots in the quad-state area of Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania. We are fully equipped to work on most piston-powered GA aircraft.
ANNUAL/100 HOUR INSPECTIONS
Inspection costs are based on time required at shop rate of $80/hour. Needed parts or repairs extra. Initial inspections require time for AD compliance checks. For current prices, see our Prices page.
If you are based at any of the dozens of small airports in this area and aren’t happy with maintenance on your aircraft - or fleet of aircraft, if you are a flight school - come see Howard Aircraft in Martinsburg WV.
